Blue Smiley received a special Christmas Present in 2003, new retro wheels. I started with a set of stock New Beetle steel wheels I found for sale at www.newbeetle.org by veedubKB (Keith Bauer). $160 later they were on their way to Texas from Florida.
In mid December I took the wheels to Oak Hill Automotive (The Bug Shop). They followed the directions I printed from www.newbeetle.org of how Speedbuggy, Whisper, and Eeyore got their retro wheels. Then they were taken to Witt's Powder Coating in Shreveport. I picked the wheels up a few days before Christmas. See the rest of the story in the following pages.
